In today’s RPG news summary Routinely Itemised: RPGs #40 we talked about how great the tabletop RPG community has been and how to keep track of the freebies.
Standing Stone Games runs computer games, and they’re getting into the act too. On a post over at Dungeons & Dragons Online, one of the games they run, they’ve announced that until April 30th all raids and dungeons, even the expansion packs, are open to everyone until the end of next month.
In other words, the game is free to play now, and so are the DLC.
There’s a buddy bonus of 5% XP active from today to March 29th, and this is in addition to the weekend events. The Mimic event will be active from March 26th to April 6th, and the anniversary event starts at the same time and runs through to April 30th.
It’s a similar situation for Lord of the Rings Online with all quests, instances and skirmishes, even those in expansion packs, now open to everyone until the end of the April. The Curator will return from March 26th to April 30th, there will be a 10% virtue XP boost for a while, and the Baggins’ Birthday event will run from the 26th to April 6th.
