Fading Suns is a respected sci-fi space opera. Ancient jumpgates connect a medieval-style empire together, noble houses, guilds and religious sects.
Ulisses Spiele has taken to Kickstarter with a new edition for the game. Fading Suns: Pax Alexius asked for €20,000 to fund, and today, with 18 days still on the project, it has raised nearly €65,000. You can follow progress on the campaign page.
There are three core books; the Universe Book (112 pages) that presents the setting and then there’s the Character Book (272 pages) with rules for chargen, major factions, weapons, magic and starships. Lastly, there’s the Gamemaster Book (96 pages) with people, places and examples.
However, there are plenty of extra books, including Factions, Intrigues & Escapades, Guild books, Imperial Dossiers and GM Screen.
The starting pledge represents all this volume. €50 gets the PDF version of the Fading Suns Universe Book, Character Book, Gamemaster Book and some digital stretch goals.
If you want the three core rulebooks in paper, then you need to double to €100. In contrast, €110 gets you 8 books in PDF.
Want to go hardcore and get all the books in paper? That’s €230.
Ulisses Spiele is running an actual play for Fading Suns which is one way to get to know the setting.
