FIST: Freelance Infantry Strike Team has become a silver best-seller on DriveThruRPG in its first month of release on the platform.
In FIST, characters are misfits – dreamers, fighters, ex-government lab rats – who have fallen out of society to be reborn as soldiers for hire. They might now be mutant snipers, a cyborg ninja or alien enhanced telekinetic warrior.
The game costs $5 whether you buy it at DTRPG or over at Itch.io where it was first published. If you pay more than the price tag at Itch.io then you can unlock a community copy to give to someone experiencing marginalization or financial hardship.
The third way to receive a copy of FIST is to become a Geek Native patron before the 25th.
Become a Patron!Game designer B. Everett Dutton has kindly provided enough download codes to supply current patrons and plenty of newcomers.
Geek Native first encountered B. Everett’s work when I stumbled over The Creeping Rot, a free zombie RPG that does not need a GM. Later on, B. Everett shared a guest article with the blog on why emotion is the new frontier for TTRPGs which was well received.
This FIST RPG gift is part of the Patreon Rewards program Geek Native runs. The goal of the Patreon is to put money back into the community, not to pay for hosting bills. Money raised from backers goes on article commissions, buying games for a giveaway, art and other industry-related activity.
