Robert Marriner-Dodds and his sister Cassandra Dodds have launched a new tabletop development company together.
Studio Cerca will focus on games directly inspired by the beautiful work of Hayao Miyazaki.
Robert is known for his work creating the cyberpunk 5e game Carbon 2185 which raised nearly £150,000 on Kickstarter, and the Dragon Drop series.
Geek Native has confirmed that Dodds will continue to work with Dragon Turtle Games as the lead designer, Studio Cerca is an additional project. He said;
Carbon 2185 is very much a game for adults. A game where you take on oppressive corporations and an exploitative world. With Studio Cerca, we want to focus on family friendly themes that children can enjoy just as much as adults.
Cassandra Dodds added;
The projects we are working on at Studio Cerca are inspired directly by the work of Hayao Miyazaki. We used to watch his films together as teenagers and we’ve always incorporated their themes and settings into the D&D campaigns we played together. We are working on a D&D 5e campaign setting that has been in development for four years.
There’s a sign-up page on the company’s newly launched website for an unnamed Kickstarter project.
