Boom! Studios tell us that the most ordered graphic novel today is Something Is Killing the Children #1.
That story and Batman #92 are both by James Tynion IV, which makes the author a hot property.
Out of the blue, Boom! have announced a new comic by Tynion, artist Michael Dialynas (TMNT) and letter Aditya Bidikar called Wynd.
Wynd #1 will be on sale from June 27, that’s just one week after Something Is Killing the Children #1.
So, how come Wynd is considered a surprise? We’d normally get three months notice of a new release. The expectation was that Wynd would be a graphic novel from Box (a Boom! imprint) due out in November.
This makes Wynd the first original series from Boom! that’s come outside the traditional solicitation cycle.
Matt Gagnon, Editor in Chief, BOOM! Studios said;

In Wynd, magical heritage is a crime that’s punishable by death. That’s going to make life tricky for a young boy with magic and pointy ears!
That same young boy is forced from home and thrust into a dangerous quest when that secret is threatened, and the adventure takes him into the heart of a royal conspiracy.
Each and every issue of Wynd will have 40 pages of story, that’s twice as much as in a standard comic book.
