Humblewood is a campaign setting for D&D’s 5e from Hit Point Press / The Deck of Many that’s chockful of new birdfolk player character races.
Humblewood was a hugely successful Kickstarter project raising more than $1,000,000 from over 14,500. Few RPGs have ever breached the million mark.
There’s an accompanying comic book for the setting, and the author is well chosen. Gail Simone is known for her working writing DC’s Birds of Prey (Wonder Woman, Red Sonja, Batgirl, et al.) and it’s Gail who has written the first story.
For Want of a Nail is currently a free download. Illustrated by Sarah Webb, the story follows Flit, a brave courier with an important message to bring to the attention of the Humblewood Birdfolk council.
If the Humblewood setting seems interesting, then it’s a good time to get involved. The PDF is currently on sale, going for 33% off from The Deck of Many.
The main download is over 200-pages long, contains 10 new playable races, new backgrounds, feats and new spells. There are printable maps and standees as well as an adventure that will take PCs from level 1 to level 5.
