RiotMinds have had plenty of Kickstarter success with their grim Norse-Celtic fantasy Trudvang setting. As promised, they’re back again with Trudvang Adventures to bring the setting to Dungeons & Dragon’s very popular 5e system.
They’re asking for SEK 150,000 (about £12,500) to fund the project and, with two weeks still on the clock at the time of writing, have SEK 850,000 (£72,500) pledged. It’s another success.
NSFW content in the pitch video (a carefully considered sales tactic, perhaps?)
Trudvang has 20 years of real-life history to explore and as RiotMinds are keen to point out, the D&D community has been eager to get its collective hands on it for a while.
A pledge of SEK 250 (about £22) gets you all the PDFs in this campaign; that’s the Setting Companion and the Hero Companion.
The Setting Companion will be between 150 to 200 pages long and will introduce the geography, people, culture and all the religions of the world. It contains magic items and relics.
The Hero Companion has what you need to create Trudvang-appropriate characters and will be able 150 pages long. The playable Half-Troll is introduced as a race with 20 new feats, 12 new backgrounds and over 100 new spells.
Pledge SEK 500 (that’s about £45), and you’ll get both books in hardback and PDF.
The second most popular tier, at the time of writing, is the most expensive. Pledge SEK 1,250 (£110), and you’ll get the companion books in hardback and PDF, print covers, a bonus booklet, a folder, a slipcase for the books, a dice tray and a mention in the book.
