A Gelatinous Cube is a Dungeons & Dragons monster which first appeared in the 1974 original “white box”. They’re a cube of ooze that slurrrrks around the narrow passageways of dungeons, absorbing anything it comes into contact with to either dissolve it with acidic juices or leave it behind.
A dice jail is where you put naughty dice until they learn their lesson.
The Esty boutique, MacPherson Minis sell this amazingly detailed and painted Gelatinous dice jail.
Look at it!
What better punishment for a d20 that keeps on rolling too low? It can sit there in the acid and slowly be tickled by digestive acid until it learns its lesson.
These UV resin creations ship in 1 to 2 weeks and while they’re made by MacPherson Minis, they are a licensed 3D sculpt by a company called Dice Heads.
The catch? MacPherson doesn’t ship to the UK where this blogger is. I would have bought one otherwise, perhaps not as a dice jail, but as a place to put an appointed everpresent d20 for my writing desk.
The other catch? According to Etsy’s inventory system, these Gelatinous Cubes are selling out swiftly and are almost gone. If you’re quick, you still might be able to bag one. Do it carefully, they sting.
