It’s May 31st which means Kobold Press’ Boss Monster supplement is about to stop being a free download.
The good news is that a 5e adventure called Fowl Play is now free instead. There’s a catch.
To get this freebie, you need to signup to Kobold Press’ mailing list and when you do that, you’ll be sent the coupon code that transforms the adventure from a $1.99 Warlock supplement to a $0.00 Safer at Home Freebie.
I don’t begrudge Kobold Press taking the chance to boost their marketing research in exchange for the freebie. Companies are suffering right now. There’s even a little GDPR/CCPA statement on the signup that makes clear you’re entering into a communication agreement with the publisher. In short, in my opinion, the signup deal isn’t foul play.
