The Dark Eye: Book of Heroes is a newly released computer RPG from Wild River Games.
There’s lots of interest in forthcoming computer games that use D&D 5e mechanics, but as the name of this game suggests, Book of Heroes uses The Dark Eye. RPG publisher Ulisses Spiele worked closely with the project.
You can download The Dark Eye: Book of Heroes from Steam today.
What might be especially interesting to computer RPGers is that Book of Heroes uses procedurally generated maps which are used in reactive adventures. In other words, when you visit the Western Forest the second time you play the game and with a different group of heroes, you will likely find it’s a different Western Forest from your first playthrough.
You can solo Book of Heroes or co-op with up to three others. There are 12 different character classes, all appropriate to Dark Eye and the world of Aventuria, such as Blessed One of Rondra, and four playable races.
There are other The Dark Eye computer games out there. There’s Blackguards 2 which has Very Positive recent reviews at Steam, mixed all over, and Drakensang from 2009, that uses The Dark Eye 4th edition and which has Mostly Positive reviews.
