Industry veteran Philip Reed has another successful Kickstarter. With a day job as the CEO of Steve Jackson Games, he knows the business and gamers well enough to pull off frequent hits. The Book of Dungeon Encounters is his 29th Kickstarter.
Presented as a giant d100 table, The Book of Dungeon Encounters is intended for use with any fantasy RPGs although OSR will be the easiest. At the time of writing, there are 45 hours still on the clock and $16,500 pledged against the $3,000 goal. You can see the progress at the campaign page.
The book is due out in November. To help the project stick to that timeline, there are no stretch goals.
How many pages in this single encounter table? 48-pages, 8.5″ x 11″ and saddle-stitched.
The PDF version, though, has a higher page count and comes in at 52. It takes only a pledge of $1 to secure that PDF – over 770 gamers have done just that.
If you splash the cash and pay x3 what you need for the core PDF, then you’ll get both the Dungeon Crafter’s Sketch Book and The Book of Dungeon Encounters. That’s $3 for over 110 pages.
The PDF tiers keep on increasing until $16, and at that point, you’re getting The Book of Dungeon Encounters and all 17 PDFs from the A Dozen Sinister Rumours campaign.
The physical book exists, but shipping is limited to the United States. That’ll cost $18 and comes with the PDF.
