9th Level Games are known for RPGs like Kobolds Ate My Baby! (illustrated by John Kovalic), The Excellents, Mazes, Tragedies of Middle School and Did You Hear About The Kid Who Died Here….
As of today, you can buy tickets to play online with the team. The Hosted Online Play service is designed for people struggling to get some RPG action due to Covid, a lack of local gamer buddies or who just prefer online.
Up for grabs are places in games of Kobolds Ate My Babe! in which, yes, you’re playing the kobolds, The Excellents in which you a princess in a cartoon world and Mazes which is a game of dungeons and dangers.
The 9th Level Games team comprises GMs who have been running games for the publisher in conventions for over 10 years. Given conventions are Covid-cancelled this year, well, what else can these helpful volunteers do?
You don’t need a Zoom account to take part, but you will be sent a Zoom link and will, therefore, need to use the system to play. Tickets cost the same as a cinema ticket, and you don’t need to have any experience with RPGs at all.
You can check out the introduction to Hosted Online Play at the 9th Level Games site.
9th Level Games are not the only indie studio offering such a service. Magpie Games launched on in April to great success. If you can’t get a seat at 9th Level’s virtual table, then keep trying, keep looking.
