Geek Native covered Dev Patel (Slumdog Millionaire, The Newsroom) and the new movie studio A24’s Arthurian horror The Green Knight back in February and assumed it had gone the same way as all Covid-launched; into the pit of uncertainty.
However, A24 has come up with a brilliant marketing stunt! A Green Knight RPG.
It’s not a spoof. You can pre-order here on the A24 site.
The green box comes with a Game Master’s Guide, a map of the realm, 5 character sheets and even a d20.
A24 isn’t the only American company to take note of the RPG community’s influence and buying power. Last year, the fast-food chain Wendy’s released Feast of Legends.
There was a bit of a backlash from some parts of the community at Wendy’s. Some gamers didn’t fancy seeing a huge corporation in their gaming space. Even Critical Role seemed to irritate people with a sponsorship deal.
So far, though, no sign of a similar row for A24 and Green Knight.
