There’s plenty of new Star Trek shows in the works; not just new Star Trek: Discovery and Star Trek: Picard but Star Trek: Lower Decks, Star Trek: Prodigy and others too.
Lower Decks and Prodigy are both animated shows and, of course, Star Trek has been animated before.
Last year, Geek Native had a copy of Star Trek: The Official Guide to the Animated Series to give away. To enter that competition you simply had to let us know which (from a shortlist) your favourite Star Trek alien was.
Here are the results;
Race | Votes |
---|---|
Andorians | 1.37% |
Bajorans | 1.36% |
Borg | 23.74% |
Cardassians | 6.85% |
Changelings | 4.57% |
Ferengi | 8.22% |
Jem’Hadar | 2.74% |
Klingons | 20.09% |
Orions | 5.02% |
Romulans | 3.20% |
Trill | 5.02% |
Vulcans | 17.81% |
That’s a three-way battle for the top spot; Vulcans (17.8%), Klingons (20.0%) and then Borg (23.7%).
In contrast, the lesser-known Andorians and Bajorans only picked up a few votes each.
Perhaps that’s the ticket to popularity – familiarity. We’ve not seen much of the Andorians and Bajorans in recent Star Treks, whereas the Borg have been a recent focus.
What’s your favourite Star Trek alien?
There’s a Google Poll embedded below which asks the “What’s your favourite Star Trek alien?’ question again. We’ve limited it to the same shortlist (but if there are races you think should be added; please suggest them in the comments below). In other words, the poll is open again and you’ve a chance to vote for your favourite.
