It’s one of the most famous scenes in Star Wars. In The Empire Strikes Back the Millennium Falcon is hiding from the Empire in an asteroid field. The ship flies into a giant crater – only to have to fly out quickly when it turns out they’ve flown into the mouth of a giant monster.
That monster is an Exogorth. What’s the common nickname for an Exogorth? Glad you asked: it’s space slug.
As Han and Leia found out some Exogorths can grow large enough to nom on spaceships.
However, the Star Wars shop has now given us another use for the Exogorth.
They can be used to handle hot things! In fact, the 12 inches of fire-retardant nomex cotton blend makes for an excellent oven mitt (or oven glove as I might call them).
I think this has character! It’s not naff! You can cook for your friends and then chase them around the table with your monster hand! Nom! Nom! Nom!
