A D&D product that didn’t leak in advance?
Not quite. The Great Dalmuti is a 25-year old card game from Richard Garfield. Garfield invented Magic: The Gathering and KeyForge.
The Great Dalmuti wasn’t as successful as those two other games, and for about two decades we’ve not heard a peep from it. Now, though, since 25th years is an anniversary worth noting and because Wizards can slap a D&D theme onto the game, we’re getting a release.
Wizards gave James Whitbrook of Io9 the exclusive, and James points out that the old medieval theme of the game has been swapped with a Forgotten Realms one. Cards like Knight and Archbishop have been exchanged with Templar and Mind Minister.
The blurb for the game, which lives on the D&D microsote at Wizard.com, points out that RPGs use random chance. The Great Dalmuti, on the other hand, is more about clever card plays.
How does The Great Dalmuti play? Well, the game is based on the public license game called President which is also known as either Scum or Capitalism. President/Capitalism uses a standard pack of playing cards.

Amazon already has a listing for the game but isn’t taking preorders yet.
