Matt Colville’s company, MCDM, is working on a new D&D magazine.
James Introcaso, who was a co-author on Critical Role’s Explorer’s Guide to Wildemount and the author of Roll20’s Burn Bryte will be the managing editor. It’ll be sold over Patreon.
Arcadia is the realm of the fey, a plane of the Timescape, as referenced by Coville’s Strongholds & Followers.
Coville discusses a magazine in his latest 2-hour “Friday Q&A” video, and it’s clear he’s been thinking about cover art.
In the video, he discusses releasing a monthly magazine for his patrons and then makes it available to everyone else.
In this discussion, Matt explains that they will do three issues of Arcadia and that each can be bought for $5 from Patreon. Each issue will be 2,500 to 3,000 words.
After the first three issues, they’ll stop and review what people liked and whether the magazine attracted more patrons. Why the review? It’s expensive. Coville says MCDM pays a better rate than anyone else in the industry.
A Tweet from Coville promises more reveals on Monday, so watch his stream then.
