Wyrmwood Gaming is a small company that has built up a big reputation among tabletop gamers. Now it’s cashing in as it’s 14th Kickstarter, a campaign to make modular gaming tables is approaching 7,000 backers and still has two months on the clock.
The campaign is reasonably complicated for a Kickstarter, requiring backers to pledge $300 for access to the virtual showroom and reserve their slot in the delivery waves. Gamers in search of a good quality and fairly priced gaming table aren’t put off by “reasonably complicated”, it seems, and those slots are filling quickly. You can see the current totals over at the campaign page.
The concept behind these gaming tables is that they’re modular; so can start small and grow. That’s a way to end up with a large and impressive gaming table without upsetting the bank.
There are five core sizes; The Lilliput, Gaming Coffee Table, Small Gaming Table, Medium Gaming Table and Large Gaming Table. The extent to which they can be customised will depend on the success of the Kickstarter, but the campaign shows a Lilliput being extended to become a Large Gaming Table.
The Kickstarter comes with accessories, such as cup holders, dice tray, desktops for laptops and even an embedded power bank with Qi wireless charging. As an incentive, the campaign offers a flat rate of $10 off each accessory.
