Not only is Katushiro Otomo’s iconic Akira making its way back to the cinema, but the 4K remastered version is also heading towards IMAX screens in the UK and Ireland.
There’s a sign-up form on a website to start the process of getting your ticket. In these uncertain times, simply arranging a trip to the cinema requires some due diligence.
Will your local IMAX be taking part? Those details aren’t yet, but there are 300 locations in the UK and Ireland which are taking part. So, yeah, the chances are pretty high.
This release will be the first time the 4K master has been seen outside Japan on the big screen.
