Remember the impressive and ambitious The Wagadu Chronicles from near the start of the year?
Developer Twin Drums launched a project to build an afropunk MMO and 5e RPG.
What’s Afropunk? Twin Drums describe their concept for The Wagadu Chronicles as fantasy based in African myth, rather than European.
Now they’re giving downloads of the D&D Afropunk they’ve created away for free.
To get the download you need to sign up to the developer’s email list.
There is the MMO coming, and the 5e game is now being used as the appetiser. In other words, it looks as if Twin Drums are hoping you’ll like the 5e setting enough to give the MMO a chance when it releases.
An animated gif at the bottom of the email signup page is the first thing I’ve seen from the MMO. There’s not been much else, and even The Wagadu Chronicles’ site looks a bit sparse with an empty news section. Creating an MMO is likely a considerable drain on the company’s resources, so perhaps no wonder that site updates are scarce.
What do you think? Measured observations are welcome and you can leave them in the comment section below.
