Andrews McMeel is a 50-year-old publisher of cooking books, comics, kids books and Zweihänder Grim & Perilous. In fact, Daniel Fox, creator of Zweihänder, now works for them.
Now, Hari Conner’s choose your own adventure Into the Dungeon will be published by Andrews McMeel too. The publisher is serious about edging into the booming tabletop market.
Into the Dungeon was a 2018 Kickstarter that smashed its funding goal, collecting 1500% of the requested total. Unlike many “pick a path” adventure books, Into the Dungeon is heavily illustrated and uses art from Hari Conner, Felix Miall, Faye Stacey and Letty Wilson.
Characters in the game have stats; Health, Strength, Dexterity, Charisma and Intelligence, which makes the system a little more sophisticated than some others in the genre.
You have heard tales of a place…a passage hidden away in the ruins of a forgotten castle, full of terrible dangers, and, for those who dare to face them, endless reward… Provisions are gathered, blades sharpened, and, trying to shake the feeling of dread, you set out to find your way…Into the Dungeon.
The book is on pre-order at Amazon, Waterstones and B&N which is what an Andrews McMeel deal can do for you.
