I like mayamada. They are a British manga brand loaded with social responsibility and still amazingly cool. Heck, they even go out of their way to run workshops with youngsters.
The team are back on Kickstarter, already sporting a “Project We Love” tag and asking for a mere £850 to tell the story of a young rabbit in Jungle, a fierce city, taking on challenges as they come. At the time of writing, there are 28 days on the clock, and they’re nearly there, with about £600 pledged. You can follow the progress at the campaign page.
It’s a pledge of £12 to get PDFs of Serious Volume 1, Serious: Through the Fog and digital artwork. You’ll get that for December, all going to plan.
Prefer print copies? Step up to £15, and you’ll get the digital artwork, the PDF of Through the Fog and a print copy too.
The pledge levels add up as you transform more goodies to print and explore mayamada’s back catalogue. If you feel the publisher’s efforts to be a positive influence on youngsters then the £75 tier sends 5 print copies of Serious Volume 1 and Through the Fog to young readers, schools, libraries and youth centres of your choice and one of each to you.
If you adore the art, then add-ons will let you purchase prints separately.
