Apple TV continues its careful but steady march into original content. Joining that line-up is animated title called Wolfwalkers.
Set in Ireland and at a time of superstition and supernatural influence, the story follows apprentice hunter Robyn Goodfellowe as she travels with her father to wipe out the last wolves.
As you might suspect, the hunting mission does not go to plan and Robyn meets Mebh, who’s part of a tribe that is believed to become wolves at night.
Together Robyn and Mebh look for the Mebh’s missing mother. It’s a quest that has Robyn uncover a secret, get caught up in the magic of the lands and perhaps put her at odds with her father.
Wolfwalkers is directed by Tomm Moore and Ross Stewart but was produced by the Japanese powerhouse Dentsu.
The animation had its premiere last week at the Toronto International Film Festival and will be out via Apple TV later this year.
