Miniatures for wargaming and roleplaying is big business, but sometimes there are arguments to dig into the niches, support smaller companies and find high-quality minis that your gaming group will not see before.
One powerful combination is the overlap of amazing model designs available from Patreons and Kickstarter with talented 3D printers who sell their wares on Etsy.
For example, Fate’s End are a talented group of designers. The company lists the merchants they work with, those 3D printer owners who transform designs into models. Fate’s End specialise in dice towers, but let’s pick one of their partners, Taylor 3D Printing and see what they can make for you.

There are some considerations when buying minis like this. You’ll likely to need to some assembly on the large models, will need the right glues and safe environment to use them. The models will also not be painted, although some Etsy sellers offer that as an additional service.
Pay attention to the shipping times as well as 3D printing is not fast, think about the size and whether or not you need a base for the model (and if one is already included).
Lastly, I like to see some acknowledgement that the 3D printer has permission to be using the model design in this way.
