Geek Native’s RPG Publisher Spotlight publisher In Search of Games has announced additional owners today.
Chris Mennell, the founder, is still involved. Now Barda Ree, previously an Event Coordinator at ConTessa and a Production Manager at the publisher, is a co-owner. Stacy Dellorfano, the founder of ConTessa, is the second new co-owner.
ConTessa is an online gaming convention run by women.
In Search of Games becomes a partnership and while none of the new owners has said precisely that they’re working on; Mennell has said they’re looking forward to it.
The publisher is best known for their ENnie nominated Santa is Dead adventure but when Geek Native spoke to Chris Mennell he said that he hoped the company would be better known for quality writing. He pointed out The Miasmic Intrusion which was released for free in response to the lockdown, and which is still free.
As a potential clue for the future of In Search of Games comes again from the Geek Native interview. I asked Mennell what he wanted to do in the future and the response was “Comics”.
However, Mennell acknowledged that any work on comics would likely be in the far off future.
The question is now whether the two new co-owners agree and, if so, how quickly could the publisher get there? If not; what new games or conventions (the name fits, right?) might we expect.
