Kingdoms of the Lost is like no MUD I have ever played before. Its rich with originality that surpasses even the more advanced MUDS. There is a colorful atmosphere and the players and staff are amazing. I am an avid Rper and I love a good MUD but unfortunately I have been saddened by the lack of originality in most muds, Until I came across this one. I have interacted with Immortals and Players alike all very friendly and extremely helpful.
Upon my creation a player non immortal (Katrinia) assisted me right away asking if I needed any help aquiring equipment and finding nice leveling spots. Although she did this formerly and well role played her part. She told me about the Goddess she represented and told me that the blessings of this Goddess would follow me where ever I traveled. I think I may have to devote myself to such a wonderful god.
She showed me all kinds of lavish areas filled to the brim with various critters and the like. How to Bank how to socket gems and apply runestones.
Runestones and amazing addition I might add.
These runes you tattoo to you person to increase your stats or to improve upon certain spells, or protect yourself against the various elements of the lands, poison, famine fire cold or heat. There are so many its truely difficult to name them all. Even the Classes are interesting there.
There are the basic classes Scout, Rogue, fighter, Mage, priest but they’ve taken this a step further into what is the Tiering stage. so like tier one My Priest is just that a priest but upon tier 2 I can practice the carreer of monk or Pastor and then at tier 3 I can chose again each one of the before classes has its on Branch yet again for the Monk you can tier into a devout or Spiritualist and for the Pastor you can tier into a Disciple or Curate and then again for tier 4 each of those last classes branch off again and you can practice for Devout :the path of a Master or Elitist ; for Spiritualist the path of :Necromancer or healer for Disciple the path of: Scribe or Patriarch; and for Curate the path of: Bishop or Cardinal.
So each class is branched out like this so the leveling never stops and each tier introduces new spells or skills that go with the class you chose its absolutely amazing. I am learning more and more each day I am there.
Another interesting thing is the Questing system. The system is run by a NPC (non player character) and upon the completion of quest you are rewarded tokens each kingdom has a different type of token and questor to go with it like I live in Murkwood and the Questor is Tarsin he has Emeralds and I am saving my emeralds for a lovely quest item called the Bottomless Bag.
Other fun things are you are rewarded for Roleplay you get experience from staying in character Imagine that! I can have a full out conversation about the tiny pebbles along the road and be rewarded. (I didn’t do this)(But I could) as long as its IC.
The Best thing I could suggest is to visit the website its packed full of useful information for character creation there is a newbie section on the website that helped me loads to and if You see Katrinia or Limic or even Cryssen they are all very helpful and nice and I am sure there are many others who are aswell. oh and You can tell em Xen sent ya! and Say hello to me when you arrive (we’ll have to formaly meet naturally)
