The original Planet Apocalypse board game Kickstarted in 2018. It’s 2020 and it’s Return to Planet Apocalypse (seems fitting). The board game is being reprinted and with expansions.
There’s a brand new Planet Apocalypse 5e-powered RPG in the same Kickstarter. It’s a way to flood your fantasy world with demons. You know; to stop things feeling samey.
Petersen Games, from the Call of Cthulhu and Doom designer Sandy Petersen, asked for $50,000 to fund the project. With 11 days, at the time of writing, on the clock, they’ve got $468,000 or so pledged. You can watch the numbers tick over on the campaign page.
The Kickstarter lets you pick what you want. If you just want the RPG, then that’s cool, and that starts at only $19 for the PDF.
The RPG will be over 325 pages long, full colour and you can check out a sample of it below.
It’s much more expensive to get the hardback as that requires a pledge of $59, or about £47.
If you’ve already got the board game, then pick the veteran pledge level to avoid backing the same thing twice.
The $666 pledge tier doesn’t include the RPG and is approaching nearly 200 backers. That speaks volumes for the trust people have in Petersen Games.
