Last year, Ghostfire Gaming used D&D’s 5e rules to create a dark setting called Grim Hollow. It went well; earning more than AU$280,000.
Ghostfire are back with the Grim Hollow: The Players Guide campaign and it’s going even better. At the time of writing, there are 29 days left on the clock, more than 2,350 backers and US$200,000 pledged against the US$30,000 goal. You can see the latest stats on the campaign page.
It’s a pledge of US$25 (about £20) to get the PDF edition of Grim Hollow’s Players Guide. If you want the hardcover, step up to $55 and also get the PDF and Grim Hollow Spell and Ability cards. This tier saves you $40 compared to retail prices, and over 900 people have opted for it.
Higher pledge tiers support Grim Hollow miniatures and over 100 backers, to date, have gone for the $340 tier for 3 packs of 6 minis, metal dice, coin purse, gaming chest, the standard books and the leather-bound special edition of The Players Guide.
The Players Guide has new character options such as the Sangomance and Oath of Zeal, both appropriate to the dark fantasy setting, there are blood magic, spells and items and you can now as a Primordial elemental or a Fey.
