Lost Universe is looking for reviews of geeky shows, and they have a novel way of getting them. They’re looking to appoint a professional binge-watcher.
The successful candidate gets a one-year subscriptions to Netflix, to Amazon Prime, to Disney+, to Now TV and even YouTube Premium. Imagine not having to click the “Go away Google, I don’t want YouTube Premium” button for a whole year.
In exchange, whoever lands this unique role must write reviews of three superhero, or sci-fi, or fantasy movies or TV episodes.
There’s a cash bonus of £300 as well, which means each review is worth £100. There’s a nice little top-up of £30 Lost Universe credit as well. (I recommend this Jurassic World T-Rex 3D mug because no one will forget the Zoom call you casually debut it on!)
Lost Universe says that the successful candidate will be proficient in most things geek and pop-culture, stay on top of the latest superhero, sci-fi and fantasy movie and TV releases and… wait for it… practice superhero moves in the mirror.
Now, Geek Native can help you stay up to date with geeky news, but the blog can’t help you with your mirror practice.
The British retailer is serious about the superhero poses as well because they are part of the application process. You can read about the full application process here but, in summary;
- Upload a picture of yourself recreating a superhero/sci-fi/fantasy character pose to Facebook or Instagram and mention the character.
- Tag @lostuniverse.club and use the hashtag #bingewatchdreamjob
Sound daunting? Lost Universe reassure us they’re not looking for professional costumes; just fun improv.
And yes, Geek Native is well aware that this is a bit of a marketing stunt from the company, but it feels like a nice one, and 5 other people will win £30 in credit at Lost Universe as runners up prize.
Applications close on Wednesday 28th of October.
