If you’ve already found The Wildsea then here’s good news; the Kickstarter notification page is in place. I’ve hit that button.
Geek Native shared the free to download August playtest, a quick writeup and some art. I was impressed.
Here’s a game that pushes fantasy is entirely away from Tolkien and D&D with character races that are alien in ways rarely seen. The setting is unique too, a world so overgrown by a persistent magical forest that regrows so quickly the survivors of this eco-apocalyptic travel by effectively “sailing” on the canopy of the trees in chainsaw powered ships.
There’s an updated playtest (PDF Link) to download.
The update adds shipbuilding rules, more beasts and dangers like Jawthron seeds, Tzelicrae Skin-Thieves and the Leviathan Squirrel.
Also new is a pre-made area in the Wildsea, The Foxloft, which comes with its own factions and story hooks.
Lastly, The Wildsea now has a publisher in the form of Mythopoeia.
