Zadmar Games have released a free to download one-page RPG in an unusual way.
The game is Samhain Slaughter and you can download it from DriveThruRPG.
What’s so unusual about that?
Well, this free to download RPG costs $0.50. That may be important later as, since March, products that cost less than $0.20 don’t count for metal rankings.
Zadmar provide an alternative way to get the game for free. They recommend using the Publisher Preview. In other words, you can preview the entire game before you decide whether you want to buy it or not.
Previews of books can be controversial with authors and publishers worrying that book shops are giving away too much for free. Previews of cookery books, for example, can include complete recipes. In this case, Zadmar is embracing the system.
Zadmar say;
Designed as a Halloween special, Samhain Slaughter is a standalone scenario for the Tricube Tales system and is usable as a micro-setting, but it is also a fully self-contained one-page RPG in its own right. You can print it on a single sheet of paper: The first page includes everything you need to play, while an optional second page expands the adventure generator with examples and twists. The PDF uses layers for ease of printing.
