Roll20 announced that Code2040 would be the charity partner for their 2020 convention. Code2040 tackles racial disparity in the tech industry, and Roll20Con is a weekend of virtual tabletop roleplaying, streams, publisher demos, announcements and panels.
The event runs from October 23rd to the 25th and has its own Roll20Con home on Roll20’s site.
Attendees (or anyone else) can donate to Code2040 through Tiltify and Roll20 has committed to matching community donations up to $50K. If fans donate $50K in total, Roll20 will donate another $50K, and Code2040 will take home $100K from gamers to make the world a better place.
The actual play troupe Dimension20 are headlining the convention and will air on Saturday at 6pm PST. Rivals of Waterdeep, Honey & Dice, Critical Role, Pixel Circus and Burn Bryte will also feature.
Burn Bryte is the James Introcaso designed RPG that was made from the ground up to get the best from virtual tabletops, specifically Roll20.
The weekend will also feature demos from Thirsty Sword Lesbians, the new Kickstarter from Evil Hat that uses Powered by the Apocalypse, and the likes of D&D Adventurer’s League, Pathfinder, Starfinder, Call of Cthulhu, Outbreak, Altered Carbon, Kids on Bikes, Alice is Missing, Alien, Monster of the Week and Fate.
