Are you still tracking the Final Fantasy computer game series? Square Enix seem to understand that they need to battle hard to keep fans engaged with the franchise. Final Fantasy XIII divided gamers and Final Fantasy XIV has been receiving intensive care. This week press got their hands on screen shots from A Realm Reborn […]
Mixed messages zombies
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ApmPQDAzYyM If you’ve not aleady watched this video then it’s a good one to play “What happens next to”. It may keep you guessing. I consider this an outbreak of the mixed messages zombies. Yes, it is Canadian. Why do you ask?
The Skyrim mini helmet of Dragonborn power
This fantastic Skyrim helmet is not the work of a pint sized Dragonborn blacksmith. The deviant artist Alisa Maskaeva (aka Krinna) from Russia is the talented crafter behind this piece. Alisa does not yet have an Etsy store – but the good news is, she soon will have, and I can only imagine the internet’s […]
Kickstarter launches in the UK
Today, Kickstarter named a launch date for the UK and this can only be great news for gamers. This Geek Native blogger is aware of a handful of British based gaming companies that had been waiting for the crowdfunding power-house to hop over the pond before launching projects. Chris Tregenza of 6d6 Fireball said; “This […]
Behind the scenes at Sony’s “Listen. Watch. Play.”
Sony Entertainment Network put together a funky and rather geeky party. The result was this showcase video you can see above. It’s not hard to imagine it being used in ad campaigns this year. Circuit board fossils
These are rather awesome. They are circuit board fossils by the mixed media artist Peter McFarlane. He’s successful and talented enough to have a presence over at Saatchi Online. For me, it’s the contrast between the old/the fossil and the new/the circuit board that makes this work stand out so cleverly.
Steampunk Predator helmet
You can wear this. This Predator helmet has been made from fiberglass and weighs less than 2kg. What gives it the metallatic look? Waxes, carefully airbrushed paint and metal rubs. Fancy it? You can buy the helemt from Skinkwork Props in the UK. A raw helemt costs £95 and a finished, painted, one is £165.
Doctor Who cosplay: bathrobe style
Cosplay always strikes me as a lot of effort. In fact, sometimes it can be a bit of a chore coming up with a Halloween costume. Last year these Doctor Who ‘Halloween costumes’, okay – t-shirts! – were popular so perhaps similar will work for this year. Something warmer than a t-shirt, though. Something like […]
The nightmare of missing keyboard keys
Once and a while you might come across the horror that is a keyboard with missng keys. Have you ever wondered why they go? German artists Babis Cloud have a project that may provide the answer. I’ve not translated the German but I assume they’re explaining how missing keys sneak off while you dream and […]
