Etsy retailer Knob Creek Metal Arts may have a strange name but their collection of metal bookends are a visual treat. The great thing about clever bookends is that they turn the awkward collection of books on the shelf into a talking point. Geeky bookends transform a pile of books from clutter to art.
Alien: The Easter Edition
There’s the strong feeling that this John Seaward (The Inbetweeners) video was inspired by the forthcoming Prometheus movie. That said, the YouTube credits not that any similarity of characters and events in this video to Ridley Scott’s Alien are entirely coincidental and unintended. Sure they are, sure they are.
Impressive Pac-Man fan film
It’s worth finding seven minutes of your life to watch this fan. The writer / director is James Farr, the lead animator is Nathan Glemboski and both are likely to pick up additional work off the back of this project. While this is a visual masterpiece I’m not sure what they’re using Pac-Man for down […]
Fire sword fight
This fight isn’t suitable for LARP but it’s still awfully cool. Wait, no, strike that – cool is the wrong word to use. This is a flaming sword fight, carefully practised but still dangerous. I think this video will get a spike in views as we approach some of the flaming sword scenes in Game […]
Alien art in London
Drawing inspiration from Alien and encouraged by the Prometheus movie that’s on its way artists have treated Great Eastern Street in London with some impressive alien visuals. In a blog post the art company, End of the Line, explain the painting is done in the Samurai Painting style, one that puts the focus on movement […]
Support gamer art: The Prismatic Art Collection
Yes, I know… another Kicktstarter project. There’s a twist with this one though; this is a project to produce gamer art for you. The project from Tracy Hurley and Daniel Solis will be released under Creative Commons License. That means you can use the pictures they hope to generate in your own RPG. You could […]
Oh! Hai Khaleesi: A Game of Dragons
I love deviant artist Pika-la-Cynique’s Game of Thrones meets How to Train Your Dragon inspired art. I’m pretty sure I’d prefer to meet Toothless rather than any of Danny’s dragons.
Behold the neon skeleton
Eric Franklin’s Neon Skeleton is a work of art and science. Based in Portland, Franklin uses glass tubes filled with ionised krypton in order to create the grow. The neon skeleton took more than 1,000 hours, over two years, to complete. What do you think? Cool or creepy?
Pac-man ghost shelf
You find great stuff on Etsy. This time we’re popping over to LightYourselfUp, from Spain, and their Pac-man inspired ghost shelf. You get to custom design the work; picking colour, size and even the direction of the ghost’s glare. Via Geek Crafts.
Gamer challenge: Find the cat
There is a cat in this photo. Some blogs ask that you don’t give the location away – Geek Native is going to do the opposite. I’ve got +500 experience points* to award to whoever finds it first. All you have to do is use the ThingLink hover facility which I’ve enabled for this photo […]
