Lego engineer Shawn Synder has a history of building great Predator sculptures so do check out the full collection. The image below shows his latest work and I think it looks fantastic. I don’t know the Lego bricks he used for the tendrils but it’s hard to imagine how he could have done better!
The Shadow’s iPad ad
I was lucky enough to watch Dave Gorman’s PowerPoint presentation during the Edinburgh Festival. Like Geek Native readers he is a creature of the internet. This is a good thing. In the presentation we get to look at a poster ad for Apple’s iPad. I don’t want to spoil the show – it’s on tour, […]
Lego gunblade
Remember Cloud’s Squall’s famous gunblade from Final Fantasy VIII. Pretend for a minute that it would work – a gun that’s also a sword! Fantastic! What a clever idea. If you’re willing to pretend that the gunblade design would work then it’s not that much more of a stretch to imagine that, well, a home […]
Six Geeky Facebook Pages to Like
Did you know Geek Native has a Facebook page? Facebook Pages for blogs are the solution for people who are too busy to keep up with new post alerts on Twitter or who dislike subscribing to RSS feeds. The extra value of following Geek Native on Facebook is that the Facebook system is more likely […]
Nihon Buyo dancing robot is the cutest
Okay, this blogger doesn’t really know whether this cute little robot is really dancing Nihon Buyo style – but he is having a go at traditional Japanese dancing. In fact, his routine is described as the Lion dance. I’m going with Nihon Buyo as a style because it was designed for the theatre, involves some […]
Prototype: Doctor Who Tardis Journal
Geeky shop Entertainment Earth have published a portotype for the Tardis Journal that River Song has made famous. Currently, the proposed book will have 160 white, lined, pages. This is the “spoilers” book. I suspect it’ll be a popular buy and an ideal gift.
The day the charity Daleks came to Cardiff
Doctor Who watchers keep an eye on the Flickr account of Alun Vega. He is one of the die hards who, with his camera, keeps close watch on local Doctor Who filming. Sometimes the Doctor Who team gets up to something else. Sometimes even the Daleks do. THe Bay of the Daleks sees the mutant […]
Tardis cufflinks
The blog Asciimation has the tagline, “I’d rather live in a world full of eccentric thinkers than one full of unthinking consumers”. That’s an excellent way to catch my interest. Another good way to do that is to provide a step-by-step guide on making your set of Tardis cufflinks. Ta-da! I highly recommend, at the […]
The Tardis corset in action
Mayfaire Moon is a site that makes costumes and corsetry. This week they’ve had some great success when a Tardis corset they made zoomed around the blogs. You may have already seen the picture below. What Mayfaire Moon have wisely done is published some pictures of the corset being modelled by her new owner. We have some […]
Game Boy swimsuit
This post had to happen. In one corner we have the Game Boy collection with the Gameboy dresses and the Nintendo bra. In the other corner we have the Black Milk collection of swimsuits that feature Pac-man, C3PO, R2-D2 and Vadar. The result? The Game Boy swimsuit. Okay; it’s just a prototype… I wonder if […]
