Oh my goodness, what a wild ride that book was! Creepy and unexpected events! Well written! When he sets up the event that is happening my imagination really brings it to life since he is descriptive and imaginative too!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great old-school British horror

Great old-school British horror. Mark Morris does not appear to write short books and this has all the labyrinthine intrigue and evolving horror of the genre's heyday. The setting is a university campus, and the characters are portrayed in sympathetic, amusing and also ruthless detail. Plenty of gore and human horror but well-balanced with a fascinating plot.

I've discovered these books relatively late on ... next one please!

2.0 out of 5 stars Stitch

I read this book decades ago when it was first published and wanted to see whether it had stood the test of time.

In some ways it has - it's still a page turner, but I think I've outgrown it.

The idea is basically a good one and highly original, but the plot is silly. Perhaps now I'm older I'm less naive and get irritated by the absurdities of some story lines.

Stitch is populated by characters who's actions are preposterous and who's relationships with each other are utterly ridiculous. I felt no sympathy for any of them and could quite cheerfully have strangled the leading lady

I found this moderately entertaining but didn't particularly care about any of the characters, or feel any great dread or suspense or interest in the outcome to their predicament.
