    Great read

As a huge fan of the show and all things Supernatural, I can honestly say that this was a great read and my favorite of all the books. Not to say that the others weren't good, but they would often drift more into the realm of fan fiction than anything else. 'One Year Gone' feels like it very well could have been an actual episode and fills in many of the gaps between season five and six. We learn of Dean's well meaning but misguided attempts to free his brother from the cage and of Souless Sam's quest to keep him from finding out he was back. We also get to find out more behind Samuel's motivation and everyones favorite demon Crowley also makes an appearance. It is worth noting that the author Rebecca Dessertine is Eric Kripke's personal assistant and her attention to detail shows it is evident that she is a fan as well. All in all, a fantastic book that has me looking forward to the next two.

    I love it

Of the Supernatural novels written so far, this is one of the best. The writer, Rebecca Dessertine, has done a great job tying the action in the novel to the current television season. It helps to expand and fill in many questions left unanswered this year. Bearing that in mind, there are some editing issues that need to be corrected by the publisher, Titan Books. Sam Winchester's birth date is incorrectly referenced in the novel as well as some grammatical and typographical mistakes. This can all be fixed upon the next printing. Still, I give this novel a thumbs up and look forward to reading any future endeavors made by this author.

Dean carries on with his life and Sam somehow comes back from the cage to work for his grandpa (who also comes back from the dead). Dean takes Lisa and Ben on vacation; mostly to find a way to get Sam back. During they find a witch coven and one of them is named Prudence.
Prudence is a name of a witch on Charmed and both shows were made by the same network.

Finally, a REAL Supernatural novel that actually ties-in with the series. Just found the TV series a year or so ago. Binge-watched it all and went looking for more stories. This was the 4th book I have read and this is the first the truly feels like the series and didn't disappoint me. The others have felt like horror novels with the tv show characters just dropped in with little or no characterization. "One Year Gone" has the characters I love and fills in a gap that I'm sure many wonder about. From the first sentence, you know you're in the right Universe. If you don't read any other Supernatural novel, read this one! I'll read any Supernatural book Rebecca Dessertine has or chooses to write. So happy to not be disappointed!!!

I read this book because I absolutely love the TV series. I have to say that I really loved this book. There were some errors but there was such a good story plot that it was easy to look past and continue reading. I loved the idea of this book being about what Dean did while Sam was "gone", it was really good. Full of action, and a little comedy along the way, I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a good Supernatural book.
