I just got this item no more than half an hour ago and I must say after trying out this product this is so far the best Wii blaster/rifle compared to the RE gun, Cabela's Top Shot, Wii Zapper, and Wii blaster.

After I unpacked the the gun the look and feel and great feels as if I had a real rifle in my hands. The butt stock and rifle barrel are very easy to take on and off.

Now to address some of the possible problems I've read over CTA's SureShot reviews from other consumers from Amazon. So far after testing the product I have yet run into a single problem. Assembly is simple, follow the instructions and you'll be fine.

The Wii-mote fits securely on the front end of the rifle and and the nun-chuck fits securely in the back as well. I also checked and test to see if the nun-chuck is in the right position for the dedicated "C" and "Z" buttons, which work at a perfect 1:1 ratio.

The only personal gripe I have is that the dedicated "C" and "Z" buttons were a little more forward on the rifle. I can understand if their were design limitations but playing games such as RE: Darkside Chronicles can be somewhat tricky. In the game "Z" button is used to pick up items and my figure must constantly be their and can throw off the balance of the rifle.

Overall a high quality product that DID NOT Disappoint!

First, its a plastic toy, so it is what it is, but it's not cheaply built. The wii-mote fits well, and accommodates the added motion-plus module with good room for cable and wrist strap. It does sit back from the end of the gun at least an inch or so, which might create a remote sensitivity issue, but I can't say for sure. It looks like it could make a difference if a difference can be made. Nunchuck doesn't quite fit 100%.....as I see in a lot of other reviews. Thought it was just mine, but I guess not. It fits tight and solid so its not a problem per se, but the flap won't close all the way, and while being a purely cosmetic condition, it takes away from the "coolness".

Anyway, trigger is ok, I don't have any problems with rapid firing. It does feel a little on the loose side but, after all, its not made by a gunsmith. Removable stock and removable barrel work well and adds versatility to suit individual tastes. Looks good all 3 ways.

Here is the problem: the C and Z buttons are mechanically a good idea, if not a great idea....mechanically that is. But their placement is horrible. Borderline unusable. I would have liked to see one placed directly above the trigger, accessible by your trigger finger, and one close to the stock accessible with your thumb. Even if both were above the trigger, both useable by trigger finger, it would be acceptable. Otherwise, you need 3 hands to use; one for wii-mote buttons, one for trigger and movement, and one for C and Z. If your game uses the nunchuck and C and Z buttons (like Call of Duty) then it's a real pain to use, if you can use it at all. It looks real cool, but I personally wish I had bought something else. 4 stars for looks, 1 star for functionality = 2.5 overall.

This rifle got 4 stars because I had to tweak it a bit. Do what I did at your own risk. If you are an impatient person and / or not mechanically inclined, you may not want to do any modifications. The first 2 of the 4 things are pretty easy. First, my experience is you have to be about 10+ feet (yes, I used a tape measure)from the TV in order to get the reticle to line up very closely with the sight on the rifle. If you are too close, the reticle will not line up properly. The downside to this is it's harder to see your targets the further back you go. I recommend as big of a TV as you can afford. I played using my friend's 60" flatscreen LG, and it looks and works great. I only have a 32" tube TV at home, but it's OK. As a side note, I actually took the "barrel tube" off of the front of rifle to give it more of the shotgun look. I'm using it for several of Remington's hunting games as a shotgun. Second, even with the instructions, the nunchuck can be difficult to put in and take out. My experience was routing the cord thru the left slot on the inside compartment could be a little tricky. You want to make sure the cord is routed out of the way so the C and Z buttons on the nunchuck engage properly, and also so the nunchuck itself seats properly in the compartment. You will only need the B, A, and cross buttons for some games, so you might not even install the nunchuck sometimes. It does give a better feel with it in there, tho. The next steps get a little more difficult. I had trouble with the B or trigger button sticking in in the depressed position, so I had to put a stronger spring inside to force the trigger to return further forward after a shot is fired. So third, you need to take out all the phillips-head screws in the body (don't lose them!), cut thru the 3 stickers on the bottom of the compartments (these stickers show you where to put the controllers), and pull the 2 halves of the rifle apart. There is a piece of plastic just ahead of the trigger guard. It is about the size of a medium-sized piece of chewing gum and about the same thickness. This piece has a bit of glue on it inside, so it's not going to come out easily most likely. This is a spacer for the 2 halves, most likely so the halves don't cave in when screwed together. Once the 2 halves are apart, you can see the linkage from the trigger up to the B button on the controller. Luckily, I think the designers did a pretty good job on this rifle, from a ruggedness/sturdiness point of view. I just slipped the original spring off the linkage, got a slightly longer and stronger spring, and slipped it on the linkage post, and put it back together. If you don't have a box of springs (I bought mine from Harbor Freight Tools), your local hardware store can most likely match one up for you. The spring needs to be strong enough to return the trigger to the forward position (without sticking) after every trigger pull, yet light enough so you don't wear your finger out trying to pull the trigger, so you may have to experiment a bit. Fourth, I took the ring sight off the front of the barrel while I had the 2 halves apart. It comes out easily. If you prefer the ring sight, then leave it on. I put the 2 halves back together, inserted my controller, and started playing. It works great now, and I don't forsee and problems into the future. Alot of work you say? Of course it was. What's it worth to you, tho? I love my hunting games, so it was worth it for me. I also noticed my scores have increased on every game I've played since my "fix". Yes, I know I shouldn't have to do this with a gun right out of the box, but I wanted it to work better, and I thot I could fix it. I'll probably buy another one and tweak it right out of the box. That way myself and a buddy can play 2-player on these big game shooters. I chose this rifle over the sniper rifle because the C and Z buttons are on the sides of the frame, not on magazine. I read several comments about how the magazine-mounted buttons were awkward and made people get sore hands, cramps, etc. I was playing my shooting games with a Perfect Shot Pistol prior to buying this rifle. I am more stable using the rifle. You can use this rifle for any game that uses the B button for the trigger. With the nunchuck in place, all buttons are accessible on it and the main controller. So, to recap, this would have gotten 5 stars had I not had to modify it to make it work how I thot it should work. Hope this helps anyone who is looking to buy a rifle/shotgun.

Neat concept. The way the controller sits back in the gun blocks some the signal, so unless you are level with the receiver bar or a long ways away it doesn't work well. I have a small room so it was a waste of money for me. I can't use it.

3.0 out of 5 stars グリップの太さが難点
Reviewed in Japan on March 28, 2012

5.0 out of 5 stars This... is my BOOMSTICK!
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on May 25, 2010
This is, overall, an awesome product.

It is solidly built and, generally, a joy to hold and use. I bought it for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Reflex and Call of Duty: World at War. The Wii-remote and nunchuk fit neatly into the body and grip of the gun. Other comments about the nunchuk not fitting snugly are probably based on positioning of the nunchuk cable and, with a bit of care and attention, this is easily fixed. In an adult's hands, the thumb can easily reach the nunchuk joystick without the 'dislocated' feeling you might get with other products. Of course, the big advantage of the Sure Shot is that the 'B' trigger is moved to an actual trigger by the grip, instead of the slightly awkward bullpup layout of, say, the Wii Zapper. The removable stock is useful for posture and stance for long periods of gameplay but I found that the removable barrel obscured parts of the screen during gameplay use so I removed it.

Be aware that using the iron sights on the Sure Shot is generally NOT accurate but this is expected because it is NOT A LIGHT GUN: like every other gun shell accessory for the Wii it just houses the wii-remote in the gun and it uses this to position your cross hairs via the SENSOR BAR (which guesses how big your TV is based on how far away you are standing). The positioning of the 'C' and 'Z' buttons on either side of the gun body is certainly an advantage over other gun shell accessories but they're fitted quite far back so that, if you're playing a game that utilises practically every button on the Wii-remote and nunchuk (Like Call of Duty), you frequently find yourself moving your hand back and forth along the gun shell between the Wii-remote and the 'C' and 'Z' buttons. This can be awkward and detracts from gameplay.

For simple shooters like House of the Dead and Ghost Squad it is a perfect product but some may get frustrated with the positioning of the 'C' and 'Z' buttons for games with more complex button layouts like Call of Duty. However, this is a minor issue and it is otherwise probably the best rifle accessory for the Wii on the market right now.
