The German site Herr-Der-Ringe (is there a joke in the name) has managed to get hold of some photographs from the in-production The Hobbit movie. Quite clearly they show the production and construction of Bilbo Baggin’s The Shire. I know its early days yet and everything could change but I think these look spot on. […]

The World of Warcraft documentary
Gavin Kelly of Piranha Bar has directed a rather clever short film called “Avatar Days”. Amazingly, it was filmed and produced in just four days. In fact, it was made to take part in the “4 day Film” category in the Darklight Film Festival. You know; I tried to buy the fomain name darklight.com back […]
Portal 2: For Science – You Monster
Seems like the computer might be willing to forgive you – in the name of science. Mind you, maybe she forgives you in the same way she intends to share her cake with you! This trailer for Portal 2 aired at the Sony Conference during the 2010 E3. We’re expecting the sequel to be available […]
Hero Games buys Indie Press Revolution
DOJ Inc – the company most people know as Hero Games – has bought the majority share of Indie Press Revolution. Darren Watts, President of DOJ Inc, said: “I’m delighted to be taking over a sales organization with the brand strength and reputation for quality that IPR has built over the last several years,” “IPR […]
Hunted: The Demon’s Forge trailer touches on Diablo and Elder Scrolls
It’s not been that easy to keep up to date with the progress of Bethesda Softwork’s Hunted: The Demon’s Forge. Part of the problem is that I’ve not subscribed to any Hunted: The Demon’s Forge specific Facebook or Twitter feeds. The other part of the problem is that I don’t think there’s a handy RSS […]
Doctor Hoo – Who is cute as an owl? #doctorwho
The fine talent at DeviantArt are on to a new thing – Doctor Who as an owl. Turns out by drawing the Doctor as an owl you can really get across the quirks of the various incarinations. I’ve selected a few examples below. Please to visit the artists galleries and make sure they get the […]
Scott Pilgrim Vs. the World game trailer
The Scott Pilgrim Vs. the World game trailer came out during E3 (isn’t E3 wonderful?). I think it shows both courage and imagination to do the game in the retro-style we still know and some of us love! Watching this reminds me of many hours given to playing Double Dragon on the Mega Drive.
No demo for Warhammer 40K MMO yet – but here’s a trailer video
Vigil didn’t manage to get a playable demo for the forthcoming Warhammer 40K MMO for E3 but its probably better not worth rushing these things and making a poor first impression. They did manage to showcase a gameplay footage trailer though. The game’s due out in the first quarter of 2013. (Via MMO Site.)
Impressive Star Wars: The Old Republic trailer ‘Hope’
I’m awfully impressed with this trailer for Star Wars: The Old Republic. I think Bioware and Lucasarts have managed to create something that will be true to the Star Wars mythos and still be fun to play through as a game. Some of the extra insight we have are just as impressive. Players will have […]
Get your eyeballs on this: Civilization 5 game-play
I’m such a Civ fan. I used to play it on a little Color Classic Mac in my parents bedroom until I was thrown out so they could sleep. Why wouldn’t I get Civ 5? I would worry I’d become equally addicted to it and I just don’t have the time. My main non-console computer […]
