The One Ring.net (aka TORn) has are confirming (as best they can) that that Elijah Wood will be in The Hobbit. If you’re worried about spoilers then click away now. Elijah Wood will star as Frodo in the opening sequence of the films. How come? TORn are suggesting that both Frodo and Sam may read […]

New Torchwood: Characters, Actors and the Miracle Day
This post has details of the new cast at Torchwood. It contains minor spoilers and if you’re allergic to those then you should read something else on Geek Native. Photos are of the actors rather than the characters but the text is based on the official press release from the BBC. Sadly, the BBC PR […]
A south pointing chariot made from Lego
The South Pointing Chariot is a wonder of engineering from ancient China. Legend suggests it was invented by the Yellow Emperor arround 2600 BC (though it probably wasn’t!). The south pointing chariot has an arm which always points south. THis isn’t a compass. This is done entirely through gears, getting the radio and track right. […]
Craig Ferguson explains Doctor Who to Americans through song and dance
Comedian Craig Ferguson makes a jolly good attempt at explaining Doctor Who to his American audience. The video features a brief cameo from a certain Doctor Who actor himself. Just for fellow Brits – Craig Ferguson escaped UK TV, went to America and now hosts “The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson“, has won lots […]
TSR’s DragonStrike video – 30 mins of D&D cheese

I’m concerned because I believe this is one of the best lightsaber recreations we’ve seen on the internet to date. What do you think? Pretty impressive, huh?
Alternative Lord of the Rings: Where Gimli destroys the ring
“I kill Gandalf” famous words from Igor in John Kovalic’s Dork Tower. That’s certainly an alternative Lord of the Rings. Kovalic’s also renowned for the comic strip where a giant eagle is used to fly over the volcano so that the ring can be dropped from above. The question is – are there other possible […]
Project Ninja becomes Pockie Ninja and oozes Naruto appeal
The Project Ninja mystery is now well and truly revealed. First we discovered it was NGames behind it and that it would be an anime MMO. Now we’ve got the MMO’s real name: Pockie Ninja. Sounds a bit like pocket ninja to me. Furthermore, there are no prizes for predicting the URL pockieninja.com for the […]
Xperia arc bundled with Exmor R and Bravia
One of the phones announced yesterday was the latest Sony Ericsson Xperia. The Xperia arc follows on from the X10 and is another Android phone. Sony Ericsson has not always been that good at releasing phones with the latest Android version. Combine that with quite a slow update frequency (the X10 still isn’t on 2.2) […]
