Arrietty was the anime to feature in the Edinburgh International Film Festival before a general UK release in July. Without question; it’s a film to watch. The film is based on Mary Norton’s The Borrowers. I’ve not read the book. I’ve not seen the children’s TV series made by the BBC or even the 1997 […]

Cthulhu slippers
Which would you rather have? Elder signs or warm feet? Those natives over at Think Geek may have solved your problem. All that you’re required to do is wear wrap Cthulhu around your toes. Oh? What’s this? You have two feet? Okay. All you have to do is have a Cthulhu on each of your […]
Road signs reveal sci-fi, Cthulhu and geeklore in every day life
Some people may think that aliens, sleeping dragons, portal generators and Cthulhu stalking the ocean play no part in our day to day lives. These people are wrong. In fact, these people don’t even know how to read basic road and safety signs. Should you encounter such a person, please direct them to this educational […]
Kielnhofer’s ghost car and timeguards
I’m not sure how, when or even why it happened but this blogger appears to be on the PR email list for a significant Austrian Swiss? art event. Right now, Art Basel is on and will attract visitors and artists from all over the world. A photo in their email news brief caught my eye. […]
Walk the dinosaur
This picture by Mykly Roventine was made famous by BoingBoing’s Maggie Koerth-Baker. This is shiny. This promises the latest in Android tablet tech. Tech that can talk to your PlayStation. The S2 […]

In May Mongoose and Issaries announced a split. This would mean Mongoose parting ways with both the Glorantha RPG and RuneQuest. There was a wriggle though – the core rules to RuneQuest II belonged to Mongoose. Mongoose announced that they’d be releasing a RPG using the RuneQuest II rule set and would be calling it […]

Balloon monsters
Larry Moss is quite some guy! He was the founder of one the first websites on the internet outside of academic circles. It was BallonHQ.com and althuogh the domainer in me can’t but help wonder if he could have done any better… it’s still shows thought leadership years ahead of almost everyone else. Larry is […]
Aurora borealis or the Green Lantern?
This is supposed to be a picture of the aurora borealis as taken from the International Space Station. That’s what NASA would have us believe. I suspect we’re actually able to see the contrail of a passing Green Lantern; perhaps Hal Jordan himself. Agree? I must be right, right?
