We’ve had quirky offerings in Geek Native’s traditional 12 Masks of Halloween, but what about a full English?
12 Masks of Halloween
A Halloween advent calendar? Nearly! Geek Native has, for years, counted down 12 days to Halloween by sharing a mask daily.
Why masks? Halloween has roots in ancient traditions like Samhain, where people wore masks to disguise themselves from spirits or mimic them. This practice evolved into the modern tradition of wearing costumes and masks for fun and fright.
12 Masks of Halloween: #2 D&D Beholder Face
There’s no ray-gun-eyes but this D&D Beholder mask is officially licensed.
12 Masks of Halloween: #1 Mammoth Chomping Spider
Is this even a mask? It might be that Geek Native’s annual 12 Masks of Halloween is kicking off for 2023 by encouraging you to wear a whole spider on your face!
12 Masks of Halloween: #12 Egg mask
This cracking costume is easy to transport, and while you can dress up as toast or a slice of bacon, you don’t need to.
12 Masks of Halloween: #11 Emperor Zurg voice changer
The Evil Emperor Zurg is the villain from Toy Story, appearing first in Toy Story 2 but was mentioned by Buzz Lightyear in the first.
12 Masks of Halloween: #10 Cuphead’s Mugman mask
Mugman was a 2013 American cartoon, but this mask isn’t for that. This Mugman, which you can get from Fun is Cuphead’s younger brother.
12 Masks of Halloween: #9 Care Bear
Fun call this Cheer Bear Care Bear mask a mask, so I will too!
12 Masks of Halloween: #8 Shredder Mask
It’s the mask and helmet that Fun sells, a combination of moulded grey latex and one-size-fits-most.
12 Masks of Halloween: #7 Punk Halloween respirator
I’m also pretty sure some retailer, somewhere, will say it’s not a real respirator and can’t actually be used to protect you from weaponised gas (or my curries).
12 Masks of Halloween: #6 Middle Finger mask
Flipping the birdy? Giving the finger? Throwing a unicorn first?
