Some jokes *do* need to be told – some jokes even need to be turned into a picture. This is one such joke. (Via Hush)
I shot the Serif
Ha. One of my favourite visual puns and a brilliant twist on the legendary “I shot the sheriff” – I shot the Serif. And many people would like to. It’s not always the most popular font but I’m never sure why. (Via the Rejectionist).
Bulbasaur used Leech Seed
A Pokemon file sharing gag! It had to happen. Wasn’t Bubasaur one of the better but underused Pokemon? Why didn’t the cute critter not just hang back while attacking with its Bulbasaur tentacles? That’s what I would have done! (Via Fuck Yeah, puns!)
iScream = iPod cream?
I think we need a new word for visual puns. Vuns? Vispuns? Pins? I wonder which lasts longer; an iPhone’s battery or an ice lolly out in the heat? Oh noes! I’m running this risk of evoking the rather of the Apple fanbois! (Via Hush now).
Scotch tape dragon and other funky sculptures
Scotch, the company that makes some of the stickiest sticky tape, is holding a competition to see who can design the best sticky tape sculpture. It turns out some people have more tape talent than they should have. Surely the Scotch tape dragon will finish in the top three? (Via Buzzfeed)
Fire breathing snowman to tackle snowmageddon
Bothered by many feet of snow? Unable to get to work or find your pet cat Rover because of Snowmageddon? Don’t take it laying down! Use a fire breathing snowman to melt a path and scare the neighbourhood brats. Credit to Nick and Anna Berte of Bel Air for making this hugely successful cure to […]
Star Wars chipmunk
Somethings go well together – and you might not always be able to predict those combinations. Let’s take… um.. Star Wars, yeah, that’s cool. Let’s also take… um, oh… chipmunks!
That’ll give us Star Wars chipmunk. Will that be cool? Let’s see if these pictures work for you!
Beware the carot zombie
You might think it’s a parsnip… but it’s a carot zombie! This photo, among many others, adds to the weight of evidence that I should buy the Bent Objects book.
That’s not a net. This is a net!
Okay, hats off to Design Boom. I thought this morning’s “Sleep or bounce?” post had a nifty and bouncy net construct in it… but they’ve done so much better! I’ve some examples below but you really should visit Design Boom for the full set.
Sleep or bounce?
This geek, although clever and handy, now faces one terrible question each and every night. Sleep? Or bounce?
